Rānui House offers free, temporary accommodation to patients and families who need to travel to Christchurch for life-saving medical treatment. Owned and managed by the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust, it’s a home away from home that means families can stay together under the same roof during a very challenging time.
But Rānui House is at capacity, and families are being turned away daily, so they’ve built a new 43-apartment complex - Rānui Apartments – that will triple the number of rooms for families in need. To help them raise $200,000 towards the opening and running of this new facility, we came up with the ‘Time Together’ campaign.
Research proves people prefer to give if they know what the money is used for so it’s common to see donation requests equated with goods or services. For this campaign, donations ‘purchase’ mum hugs, dad jokes, game nights and bedtime stories - precious family time together at a time when they need it most.
