We worked with Christchurch City Council (CCC) on a launch campaign designed to build excitement for the vast facilities offered at the city’s newest landmark – Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre.

The campaign idea brings to life the centre’s status as New Zealand's largest aquatic and indoor recreation venue, and a designated centre of sporting excellence. At 32,000 square metres, it features a 50m competition pool, dive pool, five hydroslides, and a sensory aqua centre designed for inclusive participation. The centre also houses sports courts, stadium seating, world-class gym facilities and group classes, allied health services and more, all in one place.

Our creative approach visually captures this immense scale, using dynamic perspectives, and allowed for staging to drive traffic, educate audiences, and encourage ongoing usage. Developed in Blender, the giant typography in these 3D renders is accompanied by representations of the facilities and people interacting with them – the contrast in size between the two being a metaphor to emphasise the sheer scale of Parakiore. The process of creating these involved a mixture of custom modelling elements and sourcing appropriate assets to integrate, including generating, posing, clothing and placing all of the people individually.
