Rewards and recognition

At Plato we set the bar high – and we make sure the rewards match. We’re big on recognising the wins, big and small, and creating moments that bring us together as a team. Here’s how we celebrate success and show appreciation:

  • Annual awards

Our biggest night of the year, where top performers win prizes, and our Supreme Winner nets a $10K travel extravaganza!

  • Long service rewards

Kicking in at 5 years, our people earn a range of extras such as bonus week’s annual leave and a choice of other generous experiences and travel.

  • Monthly moments

The team gathers once a month to celebrate wins, team birthdays and work anniversaries over pizza, pints and proseccos.

  • Quarterly social events

At the end of every quarter the team gets together at a snazzy new place in town to enjoy dinner and drinks.

  • Random goodness

The wins can happen anytime, to anyone, so always be prepared for a surprise extra ‘thank you’ lunch, delicious treats in the staffroom, or after work drinks.

  • End of year banger

We always, always, always have a great Christmas do on our final working day of the year. It's one of the calendar highlights: a full day of activities, fun and indulgence, featuring a long lunch and drinks at a beautiful venue, plus a cool activity.

Got questions?
Have answers.

We know that choosing your next role is a big decision, so we want to make it easier. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions people ask about working at Plato.

We aim to make it transparent and respectful of people’s time. First, our People & Culture team review applications and get in touch if we think there could be a good fit. From there, the process usually includes an initial interview chat, followed by a more in depth interview with the team lead or partner. Occasionally we’ll reach out for a third meet and greet with members of the wider team. Depending on the role, we may also set a small task or portfolio review.

New starters are greeted with a welcome pack, first-day lunch with your new team members, and a planned first-week and induction schedule to meet key people around the business and receive the necessary training in our systems and processes. To help you get started and feel supported, you’ll be paired with a buddy from your team—your go-to person for any questions to help get you up to speed, ensuring you feel supported and set up for success in your role. Also, our staff handbook and Plato intranet answers most questions you’ll have and are good resources to refer back to when needed. And the seating plan is a handy tool for learning people’s names.

Aside from a supportive, collaborative culture, you’ll enjoy the project and partnership model Plato operates. We don't live project to project and we’re not siloed either. While many clients come to us for a single service, we often collaborate across skillsets to prove the power of integrated partnership and accelerate our clients’ growth further. Our clients come from all manner of industries and range from ambitious local owner-operated businesses to Government agencies and large corporates; even organisations with international footprints.

We regularly send team members to attend learning opportunities or complete accreditations we know are important for their roles and will be of benefit to our team and clients. We also lead our team through internal training initiatives that are important to development and learning. Plus, we’re open to hearing from our team what they think will benefit their skillset and Plato. We use a competency framework for each department to help guide and develop individuals in their roles.

Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We are open to the discussion of permanently altering start and finish times to meet individual’s life commitments. This is decided on a case by case basis and comes with some caveats.

This also applies to remote working. A decision to work from home should be to benefit our clients and team by allowing you to be more focused and productive when needed. The option of working from home isn't for at-home appointments or managing challenges at home. Standard leave requests and our other options of flexibility cover that.

We’re always interested in hearing from talented people who are good to work with and can teach us something new. If you’re into ambitious ideas and collaborative culture, send us a message and we’ll keep your details handy for when the right role comes up.
