For Bargain Blinds and Curtains Black Friday, we began building momentum months ahead of one of the most competitive moments in the retail calendar, using free sampling, EDM and remarketing to support a considered buying journey rather than forcing a rushed conversion.
As a New Zealand manufacturer of custom blinds and curtains, Bargain Blinds and Curtains removes the traditional retail middleman, giving customers quality, made-to-measure products at a more accessible price point. That model relies on confidence, and samples help build it.
Instead of compressing the journey into a short sales window, we designed the campaign to work with real customer behaviour. Free sample packs drove early acquisition from September, while consistent EDM and remarketing activity kept the brand front of mind as customers measured, compared and decided.
By launching early and extending the offer beyond Black Friday, the campaign flexed across three phases: Earlybird, Black Friday Weekend and a Bonus Round. This allowed customers to transition from sample to purchase in their own time. The result was a 47% increase in annual performance, proving the value of aligning promotional timing with how people actually buy.
