ChristchurchNZ is the region’s economic development and destination marketing organisation, dedicated to promoting Ōtautahi Christchurch as the place to live, work, study and visit.
Its mission is to build a thriving, resilient region for everyone by driving tourism, supporting business growth, fostering screen production and attracting major events. Their ambition was to create a website that not only serves as the digital face of the city but also effectively supports and showcases ChristchurchNZ as an organisation.
We’ve designed and built their new website to:
- Embody the Ōtautahi brand by showcasing Christchurch’s character, culture and people.
- Put ChristchurchNZ’s economic, events, investment and placemaking initiatives front-and-centre.
- Unify multiple legacy systems into a single, content-driven hub (without losing local nuance).
- Be flexible and sustainable so the team could rapidly publish editorial features, promote events, and optimise for emerging priorities.
- Re-ignite residents’ pride — knowing Cantabrians are its best ambassadors — and project that confidence to the world.
This website elevates Christchurch’s online identity into a living, breathing ecosystem that encapsulates ChristchurchNZ’s mission in digital form - engaging, enabling, and elevating the city and its people.
