About the Role
This is a pivotal, newly created role designed for a client acquisition specialist. You will be the driving force behind our new business growth, with a primary focus on identifying, engaging, and securing new client partnerships that begin with our Marketing Services.
As our Business Development Lead for Marketing Solutions, you will own the end-to-end new business process. This includes building Plato's outbound sales activity and profile expansion across New Zealand, cultivating a network of high-value prospects, and leading the development of compelling, commercially-focused proposals and pitches.
You will be responsible for developing relationships with key client contacts, identifying opportunities for partnering with them to accelerate their growth, and working with our internal specialist teams to onboard and integrate the client into our agency. Your role will be centered on leveraging your already established network further and championing our Plato brand in the New Zealand Market.
To succeed in this role, you'll have:
- Proven experience in a senior Business Development or Sales role, ideally within the advertising, agency, or media environment.
- Expertise in marketing strategy and channel solutions and a strong understanding of the wider media landscape and how these channels drive commercial value.
- A demonstrable track record of successfully leading the end-to-end sales process, from proactive outbound prospecting and pipeline generation to pitching, contract negotiation, and closing new business.
- Exceptional strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to understand complex client briefs and ambitions and develop compelling, high-value, integrated solutions.
- A natural networker and relationship-builder, comfortable representing Plato at industry events and building a strong referral network across New Zealand.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to unite internal specialist teams (Marketing & Advertising, Websites & Technology, Branding & Design, and Creative & Content) to create seamless, integrated proposals.
